Overview
New Horizon is a vocational training program developed by Save the Children to economically
empower marginalized youth, particularly those who are vulnerable or engaged in high-risk or
exploitative environments. Designed to serve as a lifeline for economically and socially excluded
adolescents, the program focuses on building skills, restoring dignity, and enabling access to sustainable
livelihoods.
Objective
At the heart of the WFD project is a vision of resilience and transformation. By working directly with vulnerable communities, the initiative raises awareness about the dangers of human trafficking through targeted outreach and educational workshops. These efforts are crucial in helping individuals and communities understand the risks, recognize the signs, and build strategies for protection and prevention.
New Horizon Project provides :
- The core aim of New Horizon is to: Build the capacity and life skills of young people in
vulnerable contexts - Equip youth with marketable vocational skills that can lead to decent employment
- Enable financial independence and resilience
- Provide linkages to sponsored social security programs to reduce long-term vulnerability
