Overview
Project Eklavya is a youth empowerment initiative supported by CESC and implemented by
Reach India Trust. The project is rooted in the belief that every young individual, regardless of
their socio-economic background, deserves the opportunity to lead a dignified and independent
life. With this vision, Project Eklavya provides vocational training, job placement support, and
holistic development to youth from marginalized and vulnerable communities across West
Bengal.
Objective
Equip youth with market-relevant vocational skills ensure dignified employment and income generation through placement support. Empower marginalized youth to break the cycle of poverty through reskilling and upskilling Promote youth confidence, soft skills, and professional ethics.
The SMART centres conduct 4-month vocational courses, supplemented by:
- Conversational English & IT skills
- Life skills sessions on gender, hygiene, tobacco awareness, and workplace conduct
- Placement-linked support through employer networking and campus drives
- Events like Virtual Alumni Meets, Campus Drives, and Festival Celebrations to foster
belonging and motivation
