INTRODUCTION
Reach India Trust is deeply committed to empowering individuals through comprehensive skill development initiatives, particularly focusing on vulnerable populations. This commitment spans from equipping women in rural SHGs with entrepreneurial skills in trades like beautician and food processing, to addressing child poverty by upskilling urban youth from economically deprived households. Our approach extends beyond mere technical training, integrating holistic development, life skills, and career counseling to create a sustainable impact through three types of skilling models like “Centralized centres”, “Satellite Centres” and “Catchment level centres.”
Genesis in Skilling: Reach India Trust has stepped into a skilling programme in the year running 2013-14 with support from Tech Mahindra Foundation. Since 2014, Reach India has been working with TMF as a partners in implementing the SMART project for the privileged youth from urban locations of Kolkata. In the year 2022, Reach, in partnership with CESC- SP Goenka Group, started a new project in the training of youths from underprivileged backgrounds. Over last 12 years , Reach India has successfully skilled 12000 + youth, ensuring job linkages and fostering economic upliftment.
